Terms of Service

    Last updated: June 2026

Welcome to Owly. By using our website and tools, you agree to these terms. We’ve kept them as simple and jargon-free as possible so you know exactly where we both stand.

    1. We are a calculator, not a financial advisor

Owly provides mathematical projections, charts, and educational guides based on the numbers you input. We are not registered financial advisors under the New Zealand Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013.

Nothing on Owly should be taken as personalized financial, legal, or tax advice. You should always verify your actual balances, interest charges, and payoff dates with your bank, lender, or a certified financial professional before making major financial decisions.

While we make every effort to ensure our calculations, projections, and educational content are accurate and up to date, we cannot guarantee they are error-free. Owly's tools are provided for informational and educational purposes only and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for financial decisions.

    2. Your numbers, your responsibility

Owly relies entirely on the manual data you enter. If you accidentally type in a 5% interest rate instead of a 15% rate, your payoff projections will be incorrect. We are not responsible or liable for any financial decisions made based on inaccurate inputs or outdated dashboard data.

    3. "As is" and uptime

We work hard to keep Owly running smoothly, accurately, and securely. However, the service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We don't guarantee 100% uptime. We are not liable for any financial losses, data loss, or inconveniences if the site goes down for maintenance, experiences a bug, or suffers an outage.

    4. Acceptable use

We ask that you use Owly responsibly. You agree not to reverse-engineer, scrape, hack, or otherwise try to disrupt our platform and its infrastructure.

    5. Account termination

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your Settings page. Conversely, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or attempt to abuse the platform.

    6. Governing law

Owly is built for New Zealanders, and these terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be handled in New Zealand courts.
