What we collect
We collect your email address when you sign up, and any loan data you choose to enter manually — things like balances, interest rates, and repayment amounts. We don't collect your bank credentials, and we have no access to your financial accounts.
How it's stored
Your data is stored with Supabase, a cloud infrastructure provider. All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS and encrypted at rest. We don't store payment information.
What we don't do
We don't sell your personal data. We may share anonymised, aggregated data — where no individual can be identified — with research partners, government bodies, financial institutions, or other organisations, including for purposes such as research, policy development, or improving financial products and services in New Zealand. If you choose to connect with a mortgage broker or financial adviser through Owly in the future, only information you explicitly consent to share will be passed on. We will always ask for your consent before sharing any identifiable information.
Your rights
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete my account. This permanently and immediately removes all your data from our systems. You can also email us at hello@owly.co.nz to request a copy of your data or ask for deletion.
Cookies
We use one session cookie to keep you logged in. We don't use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. We use Vercel Analytics to understand how people use Owly — this is cookieless and privacy-friendly, meaning no personal data or identifiers are collected. Aggregated, anonymous usage data only.
Third-party services
Owly uses Supabase for authentication and database storage. You can review their privacy practices at supabase.com/privacy. We use Vercel Analytics for aggregated, cookieless website analytics. You can review their privacy practices at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Owly complies with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. If you have a complaint about how we've handled your personal information, you can contact the New Zealand Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
